Perri’s pencil problem

Perri loves school – especially reading and laughing with her friends. But one day, something unexpected happens. When a classmate begins to poke pencils into Perri’s big, beautiful afro, everyone laughs. Well, everyone except Perri. Uh-oh. Perri has a pencil problem. Her stomach twists, her smile fades, and a quiet question rises inside her: What should she do? Follow Perri as she finds her voice and discovers the strength to stand up for herself while learning what true friendship and respect really means.
